About the role

A unique opportunity exists to join Australia’s leading audiobook publisher as Audiobook Casting and Studio co-ordinator in a challenging and rewarding position.

You will be based at Bolinda studios – Tullamarine, and work within the audio production team and report to Bolinda’s Publisher.

You will cast, hire, schedule, administer and coordinate all of our audiobook recordings in conjunction with our publishing team. Our ideal applicant has an extensive production background, is super organised, prides themselves on running a super tight ship that is organised to the nth degree. Co-ordinating up to 20 castings at any one time, a relatively heavy workload, managing schedules, tight deadlines and juggling talent is second nature and something that you are renowned and valued for. You are also a great negotiator but also love to ensure stakeholders enjoy their experience.

The role will include:

  • Casting narrators and or authors to read books out aloud
  • Liaising with publishers, agents, authors and coordinating the hiring of narrators and studios to complete audio recordings by deadline and within budget
  • Scheduling of narrators and or authors in Australia and at external studios located in various countries around the world based on talent location
  • Publishing partner management
  • Quality control to produce high quality product for digital and physical supply to markets
  • File management, coordination of manuscripts and data entry and general administrative tasks in relation to the making of the audiobook recording
  • Actively search for new narrators through contacting agents and casting calls
  • Co-ordination and administration as required of production contracts and documentation
  • Ensuring the needs of producers, authors and narrators are met while recording at Bolinda e.g. arranging transport, accommodation, lunches as required

 

About You

The successful applicant will confidently demonstrate the following:

  • Demonstrated experience in production management and high production workload
  • Exceptional organisational skills
  • Exceptional administration skills
  • Advanced Excel skills – highly familiar with Excel and using large spreadsheets
  • Demonstrated ability to plan effectively and manage changing priorities in a deadline-driven environment
  • Strong negotiation skills and ability to follow things through
  • Experience working autonomously
  • Excellent attention to detail
  • Excellent interpersonal and relationship building skills
  • Ability to work well in a production team consisting of 12 internal engineers and multiple external studios here and overseas
  • Ability to solve problems on the fly
  • Self-motivated
  • Process-driven and efficiency in maintaining output to a high standard
  • A passion for books in all formats, reading and publishing
